July was a whirlwind of a month. The past 3 weekends he and I have been out of town.
Mid July we made a trip to Iowa to see Brian's family and then spend Saturday in memory and celebration of the life of our dear friend Jeff Fink.
We drove up to Monticello Friday and got to spend some time with Great Great Aunt Eileen and Great Grandma Kathleen.
We even got a beautiful 4 generation photo!
Aunt Laura & Aunt Bre came and spent the evening with us, too.
Grandpa Tim hung a tree swing - which Jax loved!
We spent Saturday at the Fink farm. Jax loved spending all day outside. When Daddy got home from the golf course he even got to wear Dad's hat for a while!
Before the evening was over he passed out from all of the fun. Sleepy little nugget.
Look closely - Jax is sleeping upright in Brian's arms!
A week later we were headed south for my cousin's lake house in Oklahoma. Jax traveled so well to Iowa that we were really looking forward to another trip with him.
Jax loved waking up and having breakfast on the patio overlooking the lake.
My cousin Jeff's daughters, Stella and Ellie, were great entertainment for Jax!
He loved the boat (not his life jacket so much, though)
Sweet little fawns...
Unfortunately Jax did not sleep as well in Oklahoma as he did in Iowa. We had such an amazing time but were definitely exhausted as we headed home.
...and then one week later Jax and I were on the road again - this time to Salina to spend some time with Nana & Grandpa Tom and to see some friends from Alaska who were in town. Ali and I were elementary school friends who still love to get together when we are both in town. Our mutual friend Jill couldn't make it back to Kansas, but her mother hosted a beautiful tea and brunch for us and our mothers to get our new additions together. Jax and Aleksandr were fast friends - we can't wait to see Ali and Aleksandr next time they are in Kansas!
We had loads of fun with Nana, Grandpa Tom, Aunt Tara, Funkle Dustin, and Scott
Sunscreen makes for some FUNNY hair!
Tia Laura (my aunt) came out and spent some time in the pool with us. She and Jax had LOADS of fun!
...and then we'd dry our buns in the sun (okay, the shade... and only Jax was bare buns ;)
Clapping (he won't do it in response to anyone yet, but he is clapping)
Cheesin' with Aunt Tara! He looks so chill in his chair.
It was a great month and we have another big one ahead of us! These pictures can all be found at the following snapfish links if you want prints.
