August

We've been so busy I'm trying to remember what even happened in August!
Jax is loving exploring foods on his own.   He can take down banana like no ones business...
He's still unsure about small finger foods - cheerios, etc, but he loves crackers and other things that he can grasp easily.  He is not a food motivated baby.  If I offer my spoon to him he purses his lips and backs away.  He LOVES the food we feed him, but he doesn't openly try things.  But he's always willing to share with Zeppelin!
As I said - we've been busy.  We put a contract on a new home and sold our home within 6 days of putting it on the market.  With the mad cleaning and constant staging Jax got used to going with the flow.  ... he also got the hang of the upside down game!  He doesn't mind at ALL if I clean windows and he gets to hang upside down while I do it!
He also is getting the hang of riding in the stroller.

That first stroller ride was also the day he got his first balloon.  He loved it!

The little monkey has also taken to making the most of his limbs.  He loves to use his feet to pick things up or balance toys and books.  He loves to hold books and especially his ball this way.

Since we are moving in a couple of weeks and we picked our kitchen sink because of it's baby-bath-ability we have been using it for just that lately!  Jax just started sitting up during his bath.  He's learning that if he dives forward he can't breathe well, but the sink is much easier for him - less room to want to crawl around!  He loves sink baths!

He's definitely on the go!  He army crawls all over the place!  He loves to get up on his hands and knees and rock, but he hasn't figured out how to go yet.  I think I've even caught him bear-crawling around on his hands and feet - but not using the knees yet.  From time to time he'll "stink bug" or downward facing dog - for all you yogi's out there.
Last Saturday Jax donned the purple and gold.  Yes, technically Brian's alma mater's colors (UNI), he was actually rooting for Iowa and KSU!  GO CATS!

Ever helpful Jax is happy as a clam tagging along with my chores.  (don't worry - I was less than a foot away and only not holding on for as long as it took the shutter to release).
Jax continues to be enamored by the dogs.  He's found his way to the sliding door and will lay on the a/c vent freezing so he can watch the dogs on the back porch.
Jax did get his first kiss last month.  Lily is about 5 weeks his junior and was quite the cutie!  He just couldn't resist!

We had a big month and have another big one ahead of us!  We'll be back to share his adventures with you next month!
