I just looked at the blog to see how far behind I was... wow. Even I'm disappointed in me!
As of right now I'm exactly 2 weeks from my due date. Baby Girl Michaelsen is still nameless (although Scott insists her name is Macho Mangular... I don't know but I don't see that happening) and Jax is completely fed up with being asked what he thinks of names. He usually just says "Mama will name her" when asked anymore. She's doing well. I'm feeling good - good enough that I have many people telling me to slow down! But there is just so much to do, and Jax starts school the Friday before my due date, so I want to have a fun last couple of weeks with him! On that note lets look at what Jax has been up to since March!
| Uga Muga Papa |
| THE ultimate Dino book! He loves that thing! |
| Enjoying the beautiful Iowa weather with some golf & kite flying! |
| May be one of my favorite pics of Jax. The intensity of that laugh!!! |
Thomas the Train made a stop near town in May and we got to go ride.
| Jax and I danced in the rain for about 30 seconds one evening before he decided it was much better to dance naked in the rain... and run, and jump, etc. |
| He knows better than to jump in puddles in his tennis shoes, but as soon as we bought new galoshes he was a puddle jumping fool. People were stopping just to watch and laugh with him! |
| Grandpa Tim visited on his way through to Texas and you can see how much fun Jax had playing on the swing with him! |
| He got a tour of a real fire engine from a real fire fighter. He thought that was pretty awesome. |
| The most perfect day. Temps in the 50's, 3 happy boys who wanted their picture taken, and snow! It was awesome. |
| Jax took swimming lessons to get ready for our trip to Mexico. While he wasn't too happy about me not going in with him he loved it once he got in the water! |
| Lenexa Food Truck Frenzy |
In June we went to Tulum, MX for a family wedding. Such an amazing time!
| Not Jax's first flight, but the first one he'll remember! He did great! |
| We had to get up early to get to the airport by 6am, so naptime was welcome when we arrived. |
| Jax wasn't a fan of the options the resort had to offer, and while they didn't have PB&J, they did have bread, peanut butter, and jelly, so I could assemble something he'd like! |
| The wedding photographer got a kick out of Jax, Scott & Austin. And in return they hammed it up for him! |
| Pool/beach side Rehearsal dinner |
| at the ceremony |
| The brief wedding reception was in a secret garden in the middle of the resort. The boys had a blast picking flowers, watching bugs and looking for iguanas. |
| Finally ready to hit the pool after the wedding! |
| A tropical storm the week before had blown in an unusual amount of seaweed (they usually don't have any), but that did not stop us from enjoying the beach! |
| my little beach bum |
| The boys wore themselves out running back and forth to get buckets of water for sand castles & sand construction |
| There were dozens of iguanas roaming the resort, as well as geckos. Jax had a blast watching and counting all of them. |
| Beach boys |
| My little sand angel |
| Its a big ocean out there! |
| an absolute favorite shot of these 3 little minions! |
| A fellow wedding guest became quite popular with our 3 boys. Everyone was smitten with Ava! |
| Swings!? On the beach!?! BRILLIANT! |
| Four exhausted boys waiting for our flight home. |

In July we made one last trip out to Colorado for the 4th.
| Tara wanted to get a belly bump pic together. This accurately shows how I felt about that... |
| But I was a good sport. Although we should probably have done one last time I saw her since her bump has grown (well, we both have)! |
| Frisco has had a very wet summer and for the first time that I can remember they did not have a burn ban - so we got to have a camp fire and roast hot dogs and make s'mores! The boys were very good about watching from a distance. |
| He was all excited about cooking hot dogs on the fire. He was not happy that he was expected to eat them. |
| We had these nice, Mama-approved, clean marshmallow roasting forks and the boys insisted on using dirty sticks. |
| We spent the whole trip doing fun boy things - it may have been their best trip to Colorado yet! |
| Pirate captain Tara and her crazy crew! |
| Men overboard! |
| Jax got to attend a burn out at Papa & great-uncle Tim's (that's Papa, Nana & Austin getting ready for their burnout in the background). He now lines his cars up and warns them to stay back and cover their ears - it's going to be dangerous and loud! |
| He ended up putting in the last 3 stones. |
| Making sure it's in tight! |
Nana had day passes to Great Wolf Lodge (which is rare, they never sell day passes) so we took the boys. They had a blast!
| Scotty surprised me with a zrrrbrrt. |
| Thanks, Uncle Matt, for taking Jax down the slide with you! |
| Tara & I took the boys to a dino exhibit in Topeka. Jax loved it! |
| he even got to play paleontologist! |
| One last trip to the zoo before his sister is here! It was the most gorgeous, cool, day and the animals were showing off! |
| Snack break with Katie |
| Deep in conversation with this lion (the lions at the KC Zoo are all males, all but one of them were neutered prior to growing their manes so they look like lionesses) |
| "Mom! We're squishin'!" ... I don't know how I feel about that. |

Well, next time there will be more Michaelsen's to show! EEEK!
