I can't believe it's been a full year (and a month)! It continues to amaze me how much they can change in 1 year.
Hands down: best year of my life!
Jax had his one year appointment almost a month ago and he's doing great. Ahead of the curve on verbal and social skills. He's about 45th percentile for weight and 75th for height and his head continues to be in the 97th percentile. Gotta hold all those brains! Everything else he's right on cue and doing great.
Jax received the most precious gift on his birthday - his cousin Austin! While I was sad I wasn't in Salina when Austin was born, and Aunt Tara was sad she wasn't here for Jax's first birthday party - the boys are going to think it's the coolest thing to share a birthday. Welcome to the world sweet baby Austin! We are so glad you are here!
We spent almost 2 weeks in Salina in December at Nana & Grandpa's, and then were only home for a couple of nights before we headed back to Iowa for Christmas with the Michaelsen's. All the travel caught up with us there and bedtimes got a bit dramatic. We've been home a couple of days now and bedtimes aren't as easy as they used to be, but he's getting back to his peaceful self.
Jax is changing so quickly. Until today everything has pretty much been a ball to him - if he can't throw it he's not interested. Today Brian and I looked over and he had a toy car and was driving it back and forth across the end table (just like it's meant to be) and adding motor sound effects... One minute he only cares how far he can throw it the next he's playing cars! (Nana says it's a boy thing - they are born with it). He's trying to repeat more and more words. Yesterday was "ow" today was "hat"... each day it's something new. He's becoming a kid so fast!
I'll warn you - this is a VERY photo heavy post. A LOT has happened since my last post!

We went to Iowa for Thanksgiving and while we were there they celebrated Jax's 1st birthday with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme'd birthday party!

Since sharing seemed to be out of the question for either boy Jax quickly learned to tackle Scott (in good humor) every time Scott took a toy from him. They both loved it!
Oh, how our New Years Even parties have changed!
Those were all from my big camera, so in no particular order here are some of my mobile moments from the last few crazy weeks:
On Jax's birthday we went to Noodles & Co. for lunch - he LOVED my pesto cavatapi!
Then we went out to Cabela's to look at the fish - he was too interested in fish to look at the camera.
Out for Mexican food with Nana & Grandpa!
While we were in Salina we got a babysitter and all of the adults went out for dinner - The boys were having so much fun in the ball pit they hardly noticed we were gone!
This has been one preferred method of transit for Jax the past couple of months. Lil stink bug!
This kid LOVES spaghetti (or goulash, whatever). I felt like I was watching him eat in fast forward. He couldn't get it in his mouth fast enough!
